John is a Senior Consultant with The Hayes Group International. He specializes in leadership coaching, strategy development, team implementation, and marketing/sales consulting and training. With over 40 years of experience, John brings a wealth of knowledge from his work in diverse leadership roles at US Steel, Westinghouse Electric Corp., and ABB Ltd.
At ABB, John held multiple senior leadership roles, including global responsibility for sales channel development and deployment in the company’s Power-related operations. He also served as President of all U.S.-based Power Products, Services, and Systems businesses, as well as President of Commercial Operations, Power Technologies, overseeing marketing and sales activities across North America and the Caribbean. Throughout his career, John has led initiatives to introduce new businesses, expand existing ones, and manage structural changes resulting from mergers and acquisitions. He also played a key role in establishing HR processes, including promotion systems, performance management, and management education, training, and mentoring programs.
John holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from St. Francis University, graduate work in Engineering Physics from the University of Virginia, and an MBA from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (VPI&SU). His broad background in engineering, strategic planning, operations management, and leadership development allows him to effectively guide organizations through complex business and leadership challenges.
