Dr. Terri Marts consults and advises senior executives and institutions serving the Energy, Environment, Defense, Industrials and Infrastructure Markets utilizing her 40 years of industry service and 30 years of executive profit and loss leadership experience. Terri is well equipped to provide a broad range of services necessary to achieve the strategy, performance and success of her clients.
Prior to her retirement, Dr. Marts led AECOM’s Nuclear & Environment Projects Aiken, SC & Pittsburgh PA, was SVP High Level Waste Mission Integration a $20B Nuclear Waste Clean Up Program in Hanford, WA, was VP & Program Manager for the Department of Energy’s National Energy Technology Laboratory Research Services Contract, a $500M Program (acquired from URS Corporation), was President of URS’s Washington Defense Group, a $650M Design Construction, and Operations and Maintenance Business serving the federal market in Washington DC. Terri led University R&D programs focused on energy, security and health at University of Pittsburgh and West Virginia University.
As General Manager for Curtiss-Wright Electro-Mechanical Systems Business Unit she was responsible for this $290M R&D, design, manufacturing, testing, and support service group providing systems for commercial and governmental applications serving the power, oil, and gas environmental energy and defense markets.
As President of Source W Communications, formerly Westinghouse Printing/Media, she led the business and initial divestiture of the business from Westinghouse Electric Corporation and CBS. Prior to that Dr. Marts held positions of increasing responsibility in Westinghouse including Commercial Nuclear and Defense, Power Generation and Energy Systems and Corporate Headquarter assignments and was part of the team that acquired CBS Corporation and the teams that supported the divestiture of Westinghouse industrial assets.
Among her skill set is the demonstrated ability to: manage projects valued at over $1.2B per year and negotiate commercial contracts in excess of $15B in value; work with diverse teams of universities, laboratories and subcontractors on R&D to develop, mature, deploy and manage construction of demonstration and production plants; expand into new markets/business lines, capturing programs in excess of $5B; manage a workforce to achieve excellent performance in safety, customer satisfaction, and environmental stewardship; operate and manage complex R&D, engineering, manufacturing and testing facilities from concepts through operation and leading change–startups, turnarounds, acquisitions, and divestitures. Dr. Marts has effectively managed through three company sales and divestitures and more than ten company acquisitions, proving her ability to succeed in a changing environment.
Dr. Marts received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from University of Pittsburgh and a Master of Science in Business Administration and a Doctorate of Science in Information Systems and Communications from Robert Morris University.
